The day I left for Canada
I wrote this down while doing checking in for the domestic flight from Vancouver to Victoria.
Still can't believe that I'm really in Canada, it just feels like being in a holiday. Yes! New sights, new experiences. Life's short so I might as well enjoy it while I can. Though this is going to burn a big fat hole in both me and my parents' pockets.
Doing check-in, collecting of luggage. The start of real independence will start once I find a place to stay. Now, it just feels so much like a holiday that I don't feel homesick at all.
Anyway, should begin my blog on a few days before the real fly-off. The past few days were hectic, melissa as usual, like to procrastinate on doing things. Last minute getting stuff, squeeze time to meet friends, surf net. Feeling guilty though. Didn't even meet up my best friend as we were so busy. I guess, I'm still not accepting the fact that I'll be seeing everyone in the next year. Like my junior said, 4 months say long also not long, say short also not short.
So I left Singapore with my friend, Rebecca, who is on the same exchange program as me. 4 girls from our university is going to University of Victoria for this semester. However, the both of us will be together for some time before we meet up with the rest. Photo of me at the airport, with Rebecca.

We left Singapore at 11.05am. Cool right! Our seating arrangement is so cool. So much legroom and a own tv for ourself. Ate fish for lunch and had tomato juice. Notice the haagen daz chocolate ice cream in the bottom photo. So nice right!

Arrived in hong kong at 2.30 and rotted till 4.10. Okay. Not exactly rotting, took some photos and time passed quite fast. Not exactly rotting. We walked around in the airport and see lots of shopping stuff. Yah, all branded goods. Saw 3 Disney shirts going for HK$120 from Giodarno. Think it is cheap as it is 10 buck per piece. Esprit's clothes are around the same price as the Singapore one. Maybe it is in the airport, things are slightly jacked up. Anyway, can't buy them as we have no space to put in. Apparently, my 2 luggages exceeded by 2 kg for each one. However, the domestic airport in Canada wasn't that strict. Maybe because we were students and the queue was super long.

So we boarded the plane from HK to Vancouver. The plane had some technical difficulties so were delayed by half an hour. The plane was so hot, the passengers including me were using the safety card to fan ourselves. Made me quite apprehensive about the trip. Morbid imagination running in my head. Hahaha! K. This time we did not have more legroom space. Stuck in a small corner.
Left around 5 pm (S'pore time). Stayed in the plane for 12+ hours. Had 2 yummy meals. I had the pasta with red wine and the braised E-fu noodles with hot tea. The plane was so cold and skin was so dried that I had to go to the toilet to put face moisturizer. Tried to sleep but I couldn't sleep well at all. Suffered from jetlag. I mean I spent more than a day in the airplanes and airport. So I think it was really bad that I couldn't sleep. Touched down at 5.30am 17 Aug (S'pore time), 2.30 pm 16 Aug (Canada time) . The time doesn't match with the screen. I just took the pictures for fun.
