12 Dec, Tuesday – Final night in Victoria

I woke up early to meet Becky and Ellince at Quadra’s Tim Horton. This was the last time I saw lince in Victoria as we are the first batch of Singaporeans to leave Victoria but the last people to arrive back in Singapore. At least I will still get to see her back in Singapore. Tim Horton’s breakfast sandwich was so nice! The bread was more of a biscuit scone and the sausage and egg went well together. I ordered a speciality coffee, French vanilla. It was so good!
After that, Becky and I went to find currency exchange stores in downtown to find a better rate. However, we concluded that the Bank has the better rate so we went to the Bank to exchange for US$ and to also close down my account at the same time. Sigh.. The exchange rate was not in our way. Everytime we wanted to withdraw money from the Singapore account, the rate was always high. And now, when we wanted to exchange Canadian to US, the rate was also bad.

After that, we went to the Bay to get farewell presents for Bee and his parents. Haha.. As usual, chocolates for the family and a lame present for Bee. Finally, I went to eat Marble Slab. The rest of the gang recommended me to eat Marble Slab ice cream as it was very good. I found the concept of the ice cream interesting. Mixing 2 ice cream flavours into 1. My mixed ice cream was New York Cheese and Chocolate. Since it was all mixed up, I could only taste the chocolate one. Nonetheless, the ice cream was good and the portion was big!

Then we walked down the route which bus 6 will bring us back home. We saw a peacock tree and some interesting street names, like Queen Street, followed by Empress Street. We will crapping that the whole street might be princess street, duchess street and a whole lot of female royalties name. Oh.. We passed by Crystal pool, one of the places we always see on the Victoria Map. Haha.. I am just writing all the minute things that I have done. It will be fun to look back at how crappy we were at that time
We gave up walking back home as we spent like 1 hour walking down the road because we were only halfway to our home. Hop on to a bus to go back home faster. On the way back, we videoed the path that we always walk down, took pictures of how the house look like. Precious memories. I felt pretty gloomy as it was the last time I will be in Victoria as a student.

Anyway, I just had too many things to bring!!! I am bringing back my notes, which is going to kill me, when I am transferring my luggage here and there. And I am going to have few tops as I am throwing lots of my tops during my tours in the US. Anyway, it was irritating trying to squeeze all my things. My luggage are super heavy and bulky! Had to arrange the stuff properly as I was leaving a luggage at Becky’s sister’s friend place (Vancouver) and I will be bring the other luggage to travel in US and East Canada.

When we got back home, we tried to pack our luggage. Dinner time was a feast as Becky and I have so much food in the fridge. We had 3 rounds of food, beef, chicken, noodle, vegetables. Haha.. A super gigantic farewell supper. We also fried our bacon so as to bring it on how tour trip. Bacon can last a long long time, haha.. Good to eat with plain bread so as to save money.
Bee’s parents then came in to chit chat with us. We spent the whole night talking to his parents who updated us on the previous tenants and the places they went to when they were young.

It just dawned on to me that time really passes so fast. It will be my turn, when I will be showing my Canada photos to anybody who will be so much younger than me. I will be looking back at all the times when I was young. I guess it is really time to grow up.

Then we spent the night chit chatting and played monopoly 1 final time with Bee. I will definitely missed the time we had fun together. We did so many things together – we really have become a mini family ourselves. Baked cookies, sing karaoke in Becky’s room, do crossword puzzle in dinning room, talk rubbish and crap, teach Chinese to bee and probably many more which I can’t remember off hand.

I didn’t sleep at all as Becky and I had to pack all our remaining stuff into the luggage. Arrgh.. Horror.. I really brought too many things. The only consolation I have will be throwing most of the old clothes I have. Lol.. I will also need a new wardrobe since I do not have any clothes left. Let’s hope I do not end up buying more stuff during my trip.
