19-08-06, Saturday

Had a unhealthy breakfast. Really growing fatter each day. Sigh... Started our day by going back to Bank to retrieve something. Passed by their public library and went to take a look. It is super small, not like the size of our community centre libraries. Found a chinese store and it looked crowded, maybe we might go there to eat. More people means the food's good. The raw fish, well done sign board is so funny. It belongs to a japanese mart or foodstore. Then we started to find a nearer bus stop to go downtown. The dandelions were so big. Is it the flower's name? I only know that fluffy stuff flies out when you blow it. Walked through the houses, and the scene behind it was beautiful. Took the bus and headed to town. We missed a couple of stops and we had to walked a bloody long distance back to the original stop. First-hand cars were selling at $37,000. A pair of shoes were hanging down from the wire lines. We found the bus stop and hid in the shade to wait for the next bus. Waiting time is really bad there, however they arrive promptly as they have bus shedules. We had a book which states the time the bus will arrive and each stop had information on the time the bus will arrive. At least this is good, not like S'pore one, see 2 buses coming down at the same time.

We went to find a place to stay. Apparently it quite homely as international students are staying there. We will have to check the details on when we can shift in. Currently, we are still looking for other options. Taking our own sweet time. So we headed downtown to finally explore Victoria. Saw a chinese restaurant and found a beautiful yellow sports car. I love yellow car especially bright yellow! The parking meter is taller than me --- :( . hahaha.. NO lah.. it was super amusing, at least it was slight taller. LOL. Walked passed City Hall and took a photo with there ex-prime minister statue. Then we came to Chinatown. Actually it is a very small place. And it was also selling tourist stuff and food like S'pore Chinatown. So nothing much there beside the crazy prices for food.

The menu was expensive and the char siew looks different. Not red enough, looks like waxed meat to me. One of the shop sells strawberry at $2.49 cdn (I will be writing the prices in cdn $ from now on) Found a store selling live crabs at $9.95, not sure if it will taste as good as S'pore one. I am missing the food over there which are cheaper and tastier. Tried their version of bubble tea. Actually it is the same, just that the machine to shake it is cute. Went into Market Square which has almost nothing much to be seen. They sold novelties like gardening stuff, bead-making stuff, old & new cameras, toy shop, mystical stuff like tarot cards.

Came out of market square and found a salvation army thrift store. It is really amazing there. CK jeans going at $6.99, although it is second hand, there some good finds. However, you must check if the clothes are your size. Saw crutches that were being donated. Extra large sized black cape or coat or whatever. Popeye red boxers. My friend trying to be black triad boss. And the shirt that William Hung will wear.

Lol.. Anyway, this car at the bottom is super mini and cute, only 2 people can sit in. Found a longer red oldy style car.

Took pictures of alley as they have historical background. Haha.. Too lazy to read the info, just use digi camera to photograph it, go back home to read. Found a basker. This is so amazing, he is playing on a piano. How cool! Man.. If I can do this in S'pore or get my friends to do it, it will be so fun. But that would mean that I will have to practise and I will need the capital to shift that mini piano all around.

Actually, photography was not allowed in the shop at all. We were discovered after trying the hats out. I quite like the hat in the 7th photo. But it costs like $29, converted to S'pore dollars it is like $42. So sucky.

We went into a toy store(For Kids and Silly Adults) and realised that even toys are so expensive. Then into another store which sells Christmas ornaments, the shop is big!!!! As in relative to the entrance. It had a basement, and a 2nd level (building is those small shop houses style). But no photography was allowed. Then we saw GAP. Lol. Singaporeans have this auto sensor to detect places that can allow us to do shopping. The things here are super ex though. Like $98 for some top. But the designs are nice. Quite like the guys wear, if only, the guys can dress up nicely. lol.. I like guys with style. Kids clothes were uber beautiful.

Look found a meter which I'm taller. Then we realised the back had a sign. This parking meter is for the disabled. Me and my friend had a good laugh over it. The stair case is so beautiful then we realised it is the staircase for their multi-story carpark. Things are so deceiving over here. hahaha. Walked around more and came to inner habour. Took pictures of the harbour and continued our way to Bastion Square. At that time it was around 5+. People were already starting to pack their things and to close shop. Seems like a relaxing life, no need to work OT.

Now we know there are so many dentists around. Caramel apples, ice-cream, soft drinks. Lol. Okay, maybe they couldn't resist the temptation. Anyway, we went into a shopping mall, its food court since more like a fastfood court to me. Even zi char is so expensive. $5.95 for 2 meat, 1 veg, I think. Found Bata and Esprit and the Bay is just like metro, og or robinsons. We went into this great shop called Sirens. Hmm.. It is summer sales now. Certain shops are like having sales, so it is back to our detectors to source out for good bargain. Yah. Do you see this sign at the bottom 3 mini skirts going for $10. Beautiful 3/4 jeans are at $15. Me and my friend will have to survive on a super tight budget but we can't resist it. Summer sales means clothes that are around the same weather in Singapore. We can only shop now, after that it would means the stores will be carrying winter wear. Arrgh.. I feel guilty.

Then we came out from shopping and took photo throughout the whole night of the view. The Empress Hotel photo is first photo of the last row. The luminated building is the Legistrative Building. The view was good! These buildings overlooked the harbour, they are situated near Inner Harbour. But the weather in the night was coool.. brr.. Hands were cold. Lol

Then we decided to eat as we only had bubble tea for lunch. Due to a super heavy breakfast, we didn't want to eat for lunch. Although we were not hungry, it would still be better to eat dinner cum supper. So we had makan at 10. Order only 1 set. Look at the serving! At least it was value for money. The bill was $18.97 and we gave tips so it was $22. We had complimentary bread. The meal included a salad, big portion of seafood spahget, ice cream and tea. We ordered a side dish of chicken dippers. So it was quite affordable as we each paid $11.

Went back feeling satisfied. Oh.. To get off certain buses, we just press the bar, and the door will open. This is my goodies I got for the day. Bought 2 mini skirts (3 for $10, my friend bought the other one. My jeans and the tube dress cost 15 each and the shirt was around $15. Still find the tax crazy. Paid 6% of Gst and then a further 7% on state/provicial tax. I must not see no evil, hear no evil, talk no evil and shop no evil. Shall tell myself if the clothes are super nice and at a good bargain then will I buy it. oh yah. It is super hard to differentiate their coins. I mean 25 cents coins. Arrgh.. And ever since S'pore abolised the 1 cent, counting for money became so much easier. Now is like super hard!

This took my Sunday morning to blog. Not sure if I were continue to describe my day when school starts. It is really tiring. But memories are important too, and I know my friends want to know what kind of life I am enjoying.
