27 Sep, Wed - Craigdarroch Castle

Finally, an outing! It has been boring for the past few days. Actually, I could have gone to this place with the other international students on last friday. But I had to do project, grrr... At least, I did go with becky and cheryl.

THe castle was built by Robert Dunsmuir who made a forutne from Vancouver Island Coal. So he was damn rich. The estate was valued at $15-$20m US dollars in 1888. It's so crazy how some people are so filthy rich.. The castle was supposed to be a mansion, not meant for king or queen. Guess Robert wanted to feel like a king, but he died and had no chance of staying.

I thought the castle looked small. Boy.. Inside, it was so big, grand and elegant. 30 over rooms. 4 story high. I guess I won't feel bored if I get to stay in such a house, provided there is internet access. I mean there is a telescope, a billard pool table, piano, dance floor. Just invite your friends over to have lots and lots of fun. Drink coffee, dancing, drawing, play music. The rich can really enjoy their life.. Parties everyday.




And i touched a steinway piano!!! Oh my goodness.. the sound was still so good even though it is quite old.. i missed my piano.. I hoped my fingers don't get rusty as I doubt I will be playing for 4 months.
