7 and 8 Sep - Thur and Fri

7 Sept
It was the first day that I had the most lessons. 3 lessons at not nice time. I took the Entrepeneur course and it started at 11.30 to 1. The lesson was tramatising. We had to open a real business with a venture capital of $5. It is really crap, we have to put in extra money to ensure the business is successful. An ex-student came to give a talk and he said he had to come up with $600 to print some guides but his idea was good and he earned 5k. And we thought that we really have to open a business with $5 pathetic dollars. It actually means that we have to pump in extra money and to collect it back when the business starts to earn money. However, if we do not earn any money, then all the money we pumped in will be wasted. I was fixed into a group of 4 girls, 2 internationl exchange student, taiwan & france, 1 Canadian student who was originally from China. However, they have all dropped out of the course, leaving me all alone. Guess they were too stressed out by this course. I guess I still will be taking it, since it looks interesting, but I am not sure. I am still on position 7 in the japanese class but if I swapped to another time slot which clashes with the Entrepeneur one, I will have a higher chance as the waiting list only has 3 people. Dilemma.. Arrgh..

Anyway, I rushed back home to cook lunch and dinner. Had to pack for dinner as I will be having International Business from 4 to 5.30. And Strategic Management from 6.30 to 9.30. Actually, I wanted to drop International Business if I am confirmed taking japanese. But after going for the lesson, I feel that it is interesting and it is quite useful for me in the future. Arrgh.. Dilemma, the courses seem quite heavy with all the projects. I will not be having any life if I take so many courses. But then again, I should make my school fee worthwhile. It is a bonus for me to come here as I need not pay the school fees here. It costs 9k to study in a semester, I think. Heard that the landlord is paying 19k for his son's fee.

The lesson ended early at 5 as the professor had to catch the plane. Anyway, I thought I will be rotting from 5 to 6.30 but I saw 2 taiwanese friends, Alexia and Huang Ying and we went to Huang Ying's room in hostel. Spent the time chatting and I nearly forgotten that I had lessons till Rebecca called me.

Strategic Management seems quite fun too but the course pack is so expensive. Arrgh.. Study more means have to buy more textbooks. Grr..

8 Sept
Went for the only lesson which was Japanese. At the end, it was rather interactive as we had to introduce ourselves to each other in Japanese.

Went back home to cook lunch and to slack till 4.30. We went to Jingting's room to dress up for Pub Crawl. Bought a $20 ticket to go for the Commerce Bash. The Pub Crawl is actually travelling to 4 different pubs. Anyway, the ticket was to wear the shirt. The shirt was too big for me as the small sized ones were given away (we bought the tix too late). We could decorate or cut the shirt but I didn't want to.

First pub was at Felicita, the school's pub. We were discussing about Cheryl's problem as she didn't have 2 id with her. She only bought 1 id which was the UVic student card, so she had to go back to take her passport. In Victoria, you are not allow into pub if you are below 19. And the rules are really strict. The bouncer will check thorougly before letting you in. It is really strict! So Cheryl was given a ride with the other people who didn't bring their card. So the rest of us went in first. But I wasn't allow in as they needed 1 of the 2 id to be a government issued one. As I didn't bring my IC, I needed my passport. So Rebecca was nice to me and accompanied me back home to get my passport and we rushed down to the 2nd pub. So I actually have no idea how is the school's pub like but we can always go there anytime. Heard that the food is reasonably priced.

So we arrived at Soprano in Downtown and it was a karaoke pub. It wasn't really fun as we got there at 7.30. And we were supposed to stay in the pub for 1 hour from 7 to 8. And the people who sang were out of tune and they were just screaming into the microphone. We felt quite bored as there were no fun and we wanted to leave.

The 3rd pub, Diego was much better. It was like a mixture of pubbing and clubbing. Smaller dance floor. The lighting was nice but the music was bad. Not fun to dance as the music was slow. But we felt that the last place would be much better as the mood was building up.

Last place was a club, Plan B. It was so much better. Didn't take any picture of the place as all of us were dancing. The music was good. We stayed till 11.15pm and as we were afraid that we couldn't catch the last bus in down.
