16 Dec, Saturday - On the way to Sans Franciso, stop-by at Solvang and Hearst Castle
We left our hotel and first stopped at this meeting area, Shun Fa superstore, to get to our bus that goes to Sans Francisco. Apparently, the tour agents of different companies are very cooperative. When we signed up for our tours, we didn't know that the site outsource to the many different tour companies. So we actually will have different tour guides for our trip depending on when we went.
This morning was going to be a long bus ride to Sans Francisco. 2 and a half hours of ride to our next stop at Solvang. But on the way, I took pictures of the nice scenery. America feels so different from Canada, more hills and brownish and drier look.
Look at the folds in the mountains.. Exactly what I have studied for my secondary physical geography. Anyway, we arrived at our destination roughly 2 and a half hour. Haha.. We travelled into Denmark! So cool right. There is this Dannish community here, apparently this place was a good area to grow grapes for wine.

More pictures taking of windmills. There are 3 windmills in this small town and we managed to find all.
We heard that the dannish pastry were good so we decided to be greedy and tryout the pancakes for breakfasts. Blueberry pancakes! Yummy!
Then it was time to leave after 1 and a half hour in the town. The view to the next destination was so good. We were going to Hearst Castle and we took the highway that was nearest to the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful! The waves are so nice! Anyway, it was another 2 and a half hour of ride.
We didn't go up to Hearst Castle as it was an optional component. I didn't want to spend anymore money and Becky wasn't that interested. Anyway, this castle was built by this super rich man surnamed Hearst. He played a big part in the American publications industry.
His castle is crazily big and rich. Apparently, he had a zoo inside that place too. Some pictures I took on the posters.
We had to stayed till 4pm. The optional component took up 1 and a half hours. So Becky and I was trying to waste our time around there. Then we left for Mcdonalds for dinner and arrived there at 5.30. After dinner, it was another long time to our hotel. More than 2 hours of ride. Sigh.. Sitting the bus is not fun but it is actually cheaper to join a tour package then to travel by yourself. It is inconvenient to travel in the States without a car too.
Stayed in Hilton Hotel. This place is really fanstastic!!! 4 pillows and a mini bolster. And the ammenties are sponsored by crab & evenlyn. Even the alarm clock can play jazz, rock, oldies music. Had a good night of sleep!
