8 Oct, Sunday - Seattle 2nd Day

This time, I woke up early to accompany jo, becky and jt to return the car. We had to pump the tank full before returning e car. We were pretty blur though as the petrol kiosk in US is self-serve and we didn't really know how to operate it. It took us a while to get it figured out with the help of an ang moh. But we had fun taking photos.

After returning the car, we made our way downtown on foot. Ellince n cheryl didn't join us as they had other travel plans so it was just me, becky, jo and jt. We walked through belltown, took lots of pictures with the pretty grafitti walls and then we made our way to the waterfront. It was cold and slightly gloomy. It was drizzling. The rain in North America and Canada is different in Singapore. Singapore has short bursts of heavy rain. Here, the rain just drizzle for a long long long time. But we can walk in the drizzle and not get very very wet. The clothes will dry once we step into a room.

Then we went to the first Starbucks in the world. Starbucks originated from Seattle. We thought that there will actually be places to sit. But there wasn't any seats. It was more like a take away counter. Apparently most of the frappucino are the same, like mocha, java, caramel. Jo and I tried something different. She tried the banana coconut and I tried the maple flavour frappucino. The coffee was overpowered by the different flavours. Jt and becky tried the java chip one. I still prefer the Rumba one. The difference between the Rumba and Java is that Rumba has rum in it. No wonder I love the flavour.

Then we went to Pike Place Market. Look at the delicious seafood!!! Many colourful vegetables and seafood were sold there. Look at crabs! The salmon! The lobsters! The scallops! Made us super hungry!!!

After walking around there, we happened to pass by the Hammer Man. Jo seems excited over it. It is just a big hammer man metal scuplture. Too bad we cannot go near it as the art museum was being renovated. The Hammer Man was in front of the art museum.

We ate seafood in Seattle. We ordered clam chowder, shrimps, salmon and cod with chips. In fact cod is so gooood as fish and chips. I love it!!!

After a very satisfying and delicious lunch, we went to climb the harbour steps an had a heck of time taking photos with all the art sculptures there. Took so many rubbish pose. I love photo time. It is really so fun to take photos with pose! After the photo sessions, we moved on downtown after that for more window shopping. We stopped by America Eagles. The changing rooms are super cool. They had a button inside whereby you can call the helpers to go to your changing room and tell them to get you a different size or colour. So much for excellent service! I don't get to see this in Singapore. And people are not as helpful as in Seattle. Maybe because they have a more relaxing life and can afford to provide better service. More shopping at Old Navy. We combined purchases so as to get 10 bucks off.

Then there were people giving out free hugs. SO cute!! You will never get this sort of scene in Singapore. After that, we made our way to Cheesecake Factory to get cheesecake. I got a peanut butter white chocolate truffle cheesecake and ate it for dinner. So sinful as it was so rich. However, the cake was quite disappointing as the flavour was so strong and there was no cake. It tasted more like mousse, super creamy. Ellince said we should have try the original cheesecake instead. Arrgh.. I should have done that! Original stuff is always those stuff that make them famous.
We had dinner at crab pot. It was really a different experience eating seafood. We had prawns, mussels, clams, crabs, corn, sasuages on the table. Super delicious. But I still like Singapore's chili crab! I want to go eat them when I go back to home! Anyway, we had the cake for dessert. Super super full.

Took a long walk back to our motel. The seawind was brrrr.. cold.. But we spent the time trying to sing songs. However, we do not know the lyrics to many songs.
