21 Oct, Saturday - Sooke
Becky, Garry and I went down to sooke today. It was a very impromtu decision and we didn't really make any plans. Jt was supposed to join us but she also decided to have an impromtu decision to go to Vancouver. Anyway, the 3 of us just hopped onto the bus to downtown. Transportation for students here is good because it is FREE as long we bring our student card!
So we took the bus to Sooke for an hour ride. Sooke is a quiet little town west of Vancouver Island, probably in Victoria or Greater Victoria. We wanted to go see the sooke potholes but we didn't know where it was. We also wanted to go to Goldstream but the bus somehow didn't stop there.

There were people fishing and crabbing at the jetty. We really want to go crabbing or fishing one of these days but we got to borrow the gears and apply for license. Over here you need a license to fish/crab and you can't keep the fish or crab if they are lesser than a specific size. Must allow the fish or crab to pro-create. I saw nice seaweed and was so tempted to bring back home to eat them. Lol. The water was slighty salty. I guess the basin was a mixture of fresh and salt water.

We came to a park and lay down on the field. Tried to make a "da", or big word, with our bodies. There is even a portable toilet in the park. Haha.. none of us used it. The sign on the toilet was a skunk. Skunks are stink bombs.. So we deduced that the toilet is not clean. haha..
After that, we caught a bus out to Canwest Mall. It is apparently the biggest shopping mall on Vancouver Island but nothing much caught our eyes. We did window shopping and forced Garry to try on clothes. He seriously needs a makeover. Haha.
We were more excited doing grocery shopping at Superstore because the things were cheaper... We bought pomfrets and 3 packets of bacon and many other stuff! yay! Yummy food to eat. Finally we can get to eat chinese fish!
We headed home and invited gary over for dinner. I tried preparing hainanese chicken rice but it was not successful. The meat was overcooked again. Grr.. After dinner we played mahjong on the carpetted floor in Becky's room, as we couldn't find the mahjong table. It was really super fun!
