26 Dec, Tuesday - Quebec City
Departed Montreal in the morning and made our way to Quebec City. When we got to Quebec, it was snowing pretty heavily. It was super cold and when the snow hit your face, it wasn't that enjoyable.
It was like a white christmas that came a day late. Anyway quebec city seems like a pretty little city, if there is just lesser snow. The buildings are quite european and nice. The french colonised this part of Canada that why it is a french speaking city and the buildings are more european. we visited the City hall and the Place Royale(3rd picture).

We came to the Citadel. Even though it is a heritage place, it is also a live military place which means that the soldiers are here for their training. (Citadelle of Quebec City: The complex of 25 buildings covers 37 acres and is the largest North American fort still occupied by troops.)
You can see the heavy snow.. Pure white everywhere. And very very cold!!!! We went to the museum and took more pictures. Basically, there was a fight between the British and the French and the British won, ending the French regime. And this citadel is built on the highest point of the surrounding area, so it can catch the enemies' moves but it wasn't completed by the French. The British were the ones that continued to fortify the fort.
Next, we continued walking to another place where the soldiers used to hide.
Not exactly a hiding place I guess, probably to see the enemies' moves from inside the building. The pictures below showing the fort from the top.
Oh the wind was so strong, that we could see snow particles running above the ground. You can see the wind direction and the gust of wind made us felt even more cold. We also had a mini snow fight. Haha.. Can't waste the chance to play but we couldn't hold the snow for too long.. Too cold. After that, we had an authentic french meal in a restaurant there for lunch. It was a complete meal that came with appetiser, entre and dessert. We had vegetable soup first, followed by bread, then escargot(sponsor by garry). Becky had sirloin steak for her entre and mine was veal. The desert was a delicious sweet cake. It was really wondeful!. Yummy yummy, finally a decent meal. Haha.. But it was indeed expensive. $30 cdn dollars. Expensive! I never paid for such an expensive meal for myself.
We left for Boston in the afternoon and as usual, the drive was a long one. About 7 hours. Arrgh.. Coachs ride are really bad for health. It makes one get tired easily, not enough blood circulation for the legs. We had to cross through the customs to enter united states again. Crossing the US custom was a chore. We spent like an hour there as they were really strict, checking the bus very detailedly. Becky and I did not take any photos at the customs as we do not want to creat more trouble for ourselves. Haha.. We reached Boston close to midnight and headed straight to our hotel.
Not really an exciting day, the food was the only redemption.
