24th Dec, Sunday - Part 1, Niagara Falls

In the morning, we proceeded to Goat Island to take more photos of the Niagara Falls. From the island, we could get a close-up view of the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.

The view was FANTASTIC! The beautiful waterfall and the pretty light pink sky. It was really breathtaking.

However, it was hard to go near the fall to take nice pictures. There was so much water splashing and my camera kept switching off as it was too cold. My hair was wet and the wind was blowing so strongly. We also saw this big big rainbow that stretched across the falls and the Skylon Tower and it was really beautiful. This was my 3rd time seeing a rainbow. The tour guide told us the reason why he made us woke up early was to see this rainbow. It was really great!

After which, we had to go through custom to enter Canada. The custom entering Canada was fast and easy, Canada sure is a friendly country. Actually, our passport is the friendly tool.

We went to the Skylon Tower first. From there, we had a bird-eye's view of the whole Niagara Falls. The view was magnificent... super beautiful. We can see the horse-shoe shape so clearly! Isn't the sky wonderful, I just love to see the rays of lights shining down.

This is the American falls. Bridal veil fall is actually on the extreme right side. Looks like a small strip of water flowing down. Everything becomes smaller when you go higher.
Goat Island is the piece of land dividing American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. We were there on yesterday night and this morning.
Isn't it breathtaking?
The sky cleared so I took another shot of the fall.
Niagara Falls is actually 2/3 america's & 1/3 canada's but the view from Canada's side is so much much much more beautiful. Although Niagara falls is only the 50th tallest fall in the world, the beauty of it explains why it's one of the most famous. Probably, it became famous as the Falls became commercialised.

I didn't join the tour group for the optional tour to Imax Theatre to watch Niagara-Miracles, Myths & Magic. Garry accompanied me and we were the only 2 people that didn't went for the optional tour. At least, I got to stay at Skylon Tower for a longer time. The view was so good!

Then we took a walk around the falls while waiting for the group to finish their Imax show.
Met up with Becky and we were supposed to go for lunch. But we chose to walk from the town as we weren't hungry.

We went into the nearest Casino and the Casino was posh. We didn't go into the Casino games rooms at all. The Casino comprised a huge mall, restaurants and it was also a hotel.

Becky finally spotted Tim Hortons. And we were discussing if it was just a BC thingy. The British Columbian are probably in love in Tim Hortons but in the east, it doesn't seem to be a huge thing.
